he scale of the environmental and societal challenges we face today - climate change, poverty, water and sanitation, global inequality and injustice - requires collaboration of equal scale if we are to find solutions for all people.

A new, global, non-profit alliance of leading global organizations has just been launched with that in mind: Design for Good.

World-class design teams from the likes of Logitech, General Mills, McKinsey & Company, Microsoft (led by Xbox), Nedbank, Nestlé, PepsiCo, Philips, and the Royal College of Art will unite with a shared mission to harness design as a way of enacting measurable positive change in support of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).

In this, the alliance’s inaugural year, Design for Good will seek to address Goal 6, focused on ensuring availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all. Billions of people worldwide live without safely managed drinking water, sanitation and hygiene services, which are critical for protecting human health.
